Kyle Lewis
Kyle Lewis is a composer, theorist, and performer who likes to explore the boundaries
of perception and conception in his solo work as well as through his collaborations
with visual artist Gunnar Tarsa in their duo Guy Did Ail. Â Lewis, alongside Tarsa,
was honored to be ATHICA's (Athens Institute for Contemporary Art in Athens, GA) first
ever artist-in-residence for both his work as a curator/composer/performer in solo
events and also collaboratively as a composer/performer in Guy Did Ail. Â Among many
other ideas, he's been thinking about works that balance identifiable characteristics
with permutations that allow for many distinct possibilities - largely through manipulating
fixed materials through chance, aleatory, and performer choice. He would like to be
your friend.
