Charles Hsueh

Charles Hsueh (he/him/his) graduated with a M.A. in Music History and Theory at Stony Brook University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience (with a Music minor) from the Ohio State University in 2018, received his Music Theory Pedagogy Certificate from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2020, and received his Master of Music degree in Music History at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2021. His master's thesis, "Viewing Heinrich Schenker through the Lens of Disability," focused on how disability affected Austrian music theorist Heinrich Schenker, who nearly went blind due to unattended diabetes. His research interests include the relationship between disability and music, the interaction between music scholarship and autism, universal-design-oriented music pedagogical practices, and disability accessibility in music libraries from both a physical and digital perspective.
