alexander.bohn@stonybrook.edu
Alex Bohn is a Juno winning Canadian Tonmeister / Audio Engineer from Calgary, Alberta.
Described as an “impressive force” and “absolutely irreplaceable” in classical music engineering by the Latitude 49 ensemble. His technique could be described as classically purist but with the heart of modern folk, putting emphasis on the pristine capture of special moments that can only manifest in open and welcoming sessions, without getting bogged down in technicality and technology.
Alex has trained all over North America. He holds a B.Mus in Digital Audio Arts from the University of Lethbridge and a M.Mus in Sound Recording from McGill University where he learned from industry greats such as Richard King and George Massenburg.
He has held engineering positions at The University of Calgary and The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity where he has worked with groups and artists like: The Calgary Philharmonic, The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, The Lands End Ensemble, Kevin Chen, Jens Lindeman, Jeremy Brown, and many more.
