Responsible Conduct of Research and Scholarship (RCRS)
The Department of Political Science is committed to establishing and maintaining a culture that fosters and values the ethical conduct of research and scholarship. To further this end, SBU requires compliance with federal sponsor training requirements for responsible conduct of research (RCR). Furthermore, SBU requires training in the responsible conduct of research and scholarship (RCRS) across its diverse campus.
As of September 29, 2020, the department requires that all faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, research staff, post-docs, lecturers, and visiting researchers involved in research and scholarship must complete the online CITI RCR course in social and behavioral sciences every three years and attend an in person workshop focusing scholarship and research ethics every two years.
