Student Accounts
Solar Account (Number Based ID)
SOLAR is Stony Brook University's primary administrative system used by students to register for classes, print schedules, view and pay bills, view transcripts, update personal information, and more.
All GSI participants will be assigned a 9 digit Stony Brook University ID number (i.e. 101234567). Once a student is admitted to GSI, our team will send a Stony Brook ID number and default SOLAR password to you by email. If you do not receive this number within 72 hours of acceptance, please check your application status before contacting the Global Summer Institute Office for further assistance.
If you cannot log-in to SOLAR, please visit the troubleshooting webpage for assistance.
Net ID (Letter Based ID)
Net ID is a combination of your first and last name (i.e. JohnDoe). You need to set up a password to access various computing resources, including campus Wi-Fi and your Stony Brook email account.
