Fellowships

Students accepted into a graduate program in Italian Studies are eligible to apply for the Mignone and Fusco Fellowships. The graduate program and fellowship application deadline for domestic students is July 15, 2024. However, we encourage interested candidates to apply as early as possible. Mignone Fellowship

The Roberto and Palmina Mignone Fellowship in Italian and Italian American Studies provides full tuition coverage and a $26,000 annual stipend as Teaching Assistant. It is renewable until completion of the Master’s degree (for a period of up to 3 years in total). Applicants must demonstrate a high proficiency in the Italian language.

Fusco Fellowship

The Josephine Fusco Fellowship in Italian and Italian American Studies provides financial awards of approximately $5,000 to support tuition, research, and academic travel expenses for students pursuing a MA or MAT degree in Italian and/or Italian American Studies at Stony Brook University.

Congratulations to our 2024 Mignone Fellow!

Anne-Marie Lucchese

With the support of the Mignone Fellowship, Anne-Marie Lucchese finished her second master's degree in Romance Languages (Italian) at Stony Brook University. She researched the Italian immigrant experience in Kentucky from the 1870s to the early twentieth century. Ms. Lucchese is continuing her studies as a PhD student at Indiana University at Bloomington.
