Bio:                                                                                                                                                                                                Dr. Qin is SUNY Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME).  He brings more than 25 years of experience in academia, research, and education, and is a leading expert in biomechanics and mechanobiology in musculoskeletal tissue engineering and adaptation, bioimaging, and cellular regulation. Adding to a long list of academic accolades, Dr. Qin has served both as CEAS Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and as acting Vice President/Vice Provost for Global Affairs for the University. He is a founding member of the BME department, an accomplished and distinguished scholar, a passionate teacher and mentor, and an experienced administrator. He also serves as Director of Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory at Stony Brook. His research has been supported by NIH, NSF, NASA, and DOD. He has published more than 170 peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters. Working together, we will enhance our ongoing commitment to the advancement of convergence science and innovations in cross-disciplinary research at Stony Brook.
