English Honor Society
Alpha Nu Zeta is the Stony Brook University chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. Our members are high-achieving undergraduates, graduate students, and alumnae who are passionate about literature, culture, service, and bookish fun. The aim of Alpha Nu Zeta is to create a fun, literary-themed environment for English majors and minors at Stony Brook University, while uplifting Sigma Tau Delta’s mission to “transform the world with words” through a variety of cultural events and service projects.
Alpha Nu Zeta coordinates meetings, fundraisers, and programs in order to promote literacy and the appreciation of literature. On some occasions, these programs are large, exciting events. On others, they may simply consist of a group of members discussing their favorite works. If you’re a bookworm, a bibliophile, or even a writer yourself, feel free to drop by and say hello!
