Subject: COVID Vaccine Booster Reminder
Dear Seawolves,
We hope your semester is off to a great start and that you are enjoying your time back on campus. The following information applies only to students who are eligible to receive a COVID vaccine booster but have not submitted their booster proof to the Wolfie Health Portal.
Per New York State’s mandate, if you are living on campus, enrolled in at least one in-person class, or accessing in-person services or facilities at any Stony Brook campus, if you are currently eligible, you are required to obtain a COVID vaccine booster as soon as possible to continue your enrollment at Stony Brook.
Please review the Spring 2022 Academic Calendar for the tuition liability dates and requirements.
Who is eligible for a COVID vaccine booster?
Per CDC guidelines, you are eligible to receive a COVID vaccine booster:
- If you received a second dose of Pfizer or Moderna at least 5 months ago.
- If you received one dose of J&J or other single dose vaccine at least 2 months ago.
- If you received the recommended doses of a World Health Organization emergency use listing (WHO-EUL) COVID-19 vaccine at least 6 months ago.
- If you received a mix and match series composed of any combination of FDA-approved, FDA-authorized, or WHO-EUL COVID-19 vaccines at least 6 months ago.
If you are not yet eligible: If you are not yet eligible, please wait to get your COVID vaccine booster until you
are eligible, and then submit proof to the Wolfie Health Portal within 15 days.
How long should I wait to get my booster if I was recently sick with COVID?
You are eligible to receive your COVID vaccine booster once you complete a 5-day isolation
period and your symptoms have improved, including being fever-free for 24 hours. If
you were treated with a therapy that requires a 90-day medical extension to obtain
a COVID booster, please visit the Immunizations website to learn how to submit a request.
Where can I get a COVID vaccine booster?
Student Health Services (SHS) is offering boosters on campus on Thursday, February 3 and February 10 from 10am-12noon and 1pm-3pm. Visit the SHS website to register and for more information.
You can also get your booster at Stony Brook’s R&D Park. This site is open Monday-Saturday, 8am-6:30pm; Sunday, 8am-12noon. Appointments are
not required for this location, but if you wish to make an appointment at this or
any other State-run COVID vaccine site, visitam-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov. You can also get a booster at your local pharmacy. Appointments may be required,
so check with your pharmacy for details.
