Southampton Campus Advisory Committee

To ensure our work is aligned with and meets the needs of the East End community, Wendy Pearson, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, assembled the Southampton Campus Advisory Committee to guide this work.

The committee is tasked with providing strategic advice and serving as a sounding board for the future development of the Southampton campus.

The Committee focuses on facilities and infrastructure (including plans for workforce housing and the Southampton Hospital), academic programs, community engagement, college readiness, and workforce development opportunities in the East End.

The committee, which meets monthly, is a forum for robust discussion, collaboration, and innovation.

Responsibilities of Advisory Committee members include:

  • Providing strategic advice and feedback on proposed initiatives and plans for the Southampton campus;
  • Collaborating with fellow committee members and university leadership to develop and advance shared goals and objectives; and
  • Serving as ambassadors for the Southampton campus within their respective communities and networks.

Desired Outcomes for the Advisory Committee

Over the next nine months, the committee will engage with the university to develop a stakeholder-informed comprehensive plan for the Southampton campus that:

  • Ensures financial sustainability;
  • Identifies the community, non-credit, and academic programs that the community needs;
