Stony Brook Trustees Faculty Award

Nominations due Tuesday, March 25

Recognizes promising early-career faculty for their significant contributions to research, scholarship, and art-making.

Open to full-time second-term assistant professors who have completed their review process after being at Stony Brook at least three years.

Outstanding Lecturer Award

Nominations due Tuesday, March 25

Recognizes significant and ongoing contributions to the university’s educational mission. Open to full-time lecturers who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, service and professional development. Given by the Office of the Provost and the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching

Nominate an Outstanding Lecturer

Outstanding Mentor Award

Nominations due Tuesday, March 25

Recognizes senior faculty for their exceptional dedication to mentoring non-tenure track, pre-tenure, and mid-career faculty.

Open to full-time associate professors or professors, including retired faculty.

Given by the Office of the Provost

Nominate an Outstanding Mentor

Excellence in Educational Effectiveness Award

Nominations due Friday, March 7

Recognizes Stony Brook University community members who demonstrate a strong commitment to best practices in academic assessment and improvement.

Open to full- and part-time faculty, staff, assessment coordinators, and graduate teaching assistants who have had a positive impact on student learning, academic programs or services as a result of assessment practices.

Awarded by the Provost's Office and managed by the Office of Educational Effectiveness and the Assessment Council

Celebration of Teaching: Excellence in Teaching

Nominations due Tuesday, March 25

Recognize those among us who use exceptional teaching practices, dispositions, and proficiencies, and who demonstrate passion for teaching, concern for students, and commitment to inspiring learning.

Open to educators who have taught in person or online in the past academic year and have not received an Excellence in Teaching award in the same category in the past two years.

Given by the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching.
