Diamond Anvil Cell Laboratory
We use a diamond anvil cell to generate in our experiments, a miniature high pressure
device capable of reaching extreme pressure conditions above 300 GPa. Diamond anvil
cells, due to its size and the unique properties of the diamond anvils, can be coupled
with a wide variety of modern in situ analytical techniques. We standardize in our laboratory on two of the many different
types of diamond anvil cells, the symmetric Mao-type and the Almax-Boehler plate cell.

InXS Lab - Rigaku Miniflex 600 tabletop powder X-ray diffractometer
This is a univesity user facility. Users are provided hands on training in its operation (documentation available here) and the required x-ray diffraction safety training is through an online course, currently ERS-006.
Users are then permitted to run their own samples.
Fee is $32.00/hour. Most samples can be run in about 30 minutes.
