"The Society will present, when necessary, legislation to preserve the ecology of the whole area, and members will be advised as to how they can help. It will utilize the services -of marine biologists, soil and forestry experts, officials of the State Conservation Dept., the Bureau of Marine Fisheries, and the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It will cooperate with similar groups elsewhere. The Society will encourage the granting of inducements, such as tax relief, for the preservation of wetlands, forests, and open spaces, and will endeavor to protect individual property rights affected by practices inconsistent with conservation. It asks public support in bringing any conservation violations to its attention, through the community representative or by letter to Box 953, East Hampton, New York."

"Public meetings, with guest speakers, be held from time to time to present the serious problems involved in preserving East Hampton’s aesthetic values and its economic resources as a fishing, farming, residential, and summer resort area."
