Wenbo Li joined the School of Communication and Journalism and the Alda Center for Communicating Science as an assistant professor of science communication in 2022.
His research focuses on how social media influences individual and social change, with particular attention to how social media can impact health and racial disparities.
Wenbo has published papers in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, Journal of Health Communication, Ethnicity & Health, and New Media & Society, among others. He has co-authored a book chapter that will be published in The International Encyclopedia of Health Communication. He has a background in journalism, covering international business and technology for a variety of publications in Beijing, including Bloomberg Businessweek.
He earned his PhD from The Ohio State University.
