Regenerative Medicine
Background
Regenerative medicine is a core area of focus in the IEDM institute. The IEDM will serve as a center of excellence by integrating High Performance Computing (HPC) with three core areas of regenerative biology:
- In silico biomaterial synthesis
- Organic and inorganic scaffolds
- Integration of stem cell biology with matrix biology
The regenerative medicine core within the IEDM institute will serve to advance our knowledge in modeling and designing optimal biomaterials and scaffolds to support the microenvironment for self-assembly of cells for whole organ regeneration. The areas of application will focus on:
- Neurobiology
- Kidney & Genitourinary system
- Cardiovascular Disease.
- Bionic Spine Group
