Become an Intern!
Expand the pantry operations.
Our undergraduate coordinators support the overall operations of the pantry while also assisting with programming and initiatives to promote the resources we offer. In this role, our interns are committed to the overall mission of the Stony Brook University Seawolves Pantry. By creating new initiatives and expanding our current offerings, our interns provide essential service in reaching out to the Stony Brook community.
The Undergraduate Student Coordinator position is compensated through the Empire State Service Corps (ESSC), within the Food Insecurity & SNAP Basic Needs focus area. This opportunity allows New York State students to be paid for meaningful work that can provide lifelong skills as well create lasting impacts in their community. Students will be required to work 300 hours during the academic year, for an average of 10 hours per week.
Additionally, the Undergraduate Student Coordinator position satisfies the Experiential Learning (EXP+) graduation requirement via enrollment in an EXT course for up to 2 academic credits. Enrollment in an EXT course for academic credit is optional and has additional requirements through the Career Center.
Intern cohorts are organized on a yearly basis, with new opportunities opening up for each academic year. Applications will open each spring semester, for the position to begin in the following fall semester.
