The Postdoc Pack SRG is committed to strengthening the research community at Stony Brook by building meaningful connections and creating networking opportunities among researchers, including postdoctoral scholars.
Events and Membership
The Postdoc Pack SRG is dedicated to turning the often-isolated research experience into a collaborative, thriving community. We believe that professional growth happens best when backed by a strong social and peer network.
We bridge the gap between labs and departments through a variety of consistent activities designed for both professional development and social well-being:
- Networking Mixers: Regular informal gatherings to help you meet fellow scholars and build a support system outside your immediate research group.
- Community Socials: From coffee hours to local outings, we create low-pressure spaces to recharge and connect as people, not just researchers.
Whether you are looking for a mentor, a collaborator, or simply a group of people who understand the "postdoc life," we are here to welcome you.

Members can attend as many meetings and events as they would like. Individual membership in SRGs is strictly voluntary and open to all employees who are interested in joining, regardless of identity. Refer to the SRG benefits and guidelines for more information.
