Congratulations, Laura!
On Thursday, May 5, 2016, Laura Abbasi-Lemmon defended her thesis "Experiencing and Knowing Pregnant Bodies: A Critical Discourse Analysis of Pregnancy
Texts" at an open defense in the Bev Birns Library. Her committte consisted of Lisa
Diedrich, Liz Montegary, and Michele Friedner. Audience members at the defense included
Laura's husband Eric and her friends and colleagues from Women's, Gender, and Sexuality
Studies and the Disability Studies track of Health and Rehibilitation Sciences.
Laura is the first graduate of the MA program, which was launched in 2014 in addition
to a PhD program in the field.
