Guiliano Global Fellowship Program
Applications due October 1/March 1
Edward Guiliano '78, PhD, Global Fellowship Program: Undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences may utilize this award for creative expression, research, and cultural activities for personal development outside of their comfort zone through travel, as projects must take place at least 200 miles from the student’s home or the Stony Brook campus. The goal of the Guiliano Global Fellowship program is to give Stony Brook students the opportunity to have a truly enriching, transformational educational experience.
National Humanities Leadership Council
The Humanities Institute (HISB) will select a small number of outstanding undergraduate nominees for the National Humanities Student Leadership Council 2024-2025. If you know of students who may be strong candidates for this year's Council, encourage them to apply via the HISB website, linked below. Students need not be humanities majors to apply. Check the website of the Office for External Scholarships & Fellowships Advising to find out more about research and study abroad opportunities (including Fulbright & DAAD fellowships).
Goldwater Scholarship opportunity (a national competitive award). Sophomore and/or juniors involved in research who have a commitment to a research career in mathematics, the natural sciences and/or engineering and are planning to pursue a Ph.D. may want to consider applying for external competitions such as the Barry Goldwater Scholarship.
Other competitive awards for post graduate study in the U.K. include the Churchill, Gates-Cambridge, Marshall, and Rhodes Scholarships.

Scharps Legal Essay Competition: SUNY also sponsors an essay competition for students in their junior year who are interested in pursuing a career in the legal field. For more information, please check the Division of Undergraduate Education website .
