Subject: Update on COVID Booster Requirement
Dear Seawolves,
Per New York State’s mandate, if you are living on campus, enrolled in at least one in-person class, or accessing in-person services or facilities at any Stony Brook campus, you are required to obtain a COVID vaccine booster upon eligibility. We understand that some students have not been able to obtain their booster yet or are not yet eligible. These students will be permitted to register for Summer and Fall 2022 classes.
Who is eligible for a COVID vaccine booster?
Per CDC guidelines, you are eligible to receive a COVID vaccine booster:
-
If you received a second dose of Pfizer or Moderna at least 5 months ago.
-
If you received one dose of J&J or other single dose vaccine at least 2 months ago.
-
If you received the recommended doses of a World Health Organization emergency use listing (WHO-EUL) COVID-19 vaccine at least 5 months ago.
-
If you received a mix and match series composed of any combination of FDA-approved, FDA-authorized, or WHO-EUL COVID-19 vaccines at least 5 months ago.
To check your eligibility, refer to this booster eligibility calculator.
Where can I get a COVID vaccine booster?
You can get the booster at most pharmacies. To view available locations, visit https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov. Appointments may be required, so check with your pharmacy for details. If searching for locations around campus, use the zip code 11794.
Student Health Services is also offering the vaccine on-campus. Please visit https://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/studentaffairs/shs/Influenza_PODS.php for further information.
If you believe you received this message in error, please email vaccinations@stonybrook.edu from your Stony Brook email address and include your name, Stony Brook ID, and other relevant details.
