Sent to all students:
Temporary Relocation of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Dear Seawolves,
To better serve you, we are renovating Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), located on the 2nd floor at 1 Stadium Road. Due to this construction that begins now and will continue through late January, CAPS team members are temporarily relocating to other campus locations, but all of our services, as always, are available to you, including in-person and telecounseling support.
To speak with a counselor, please call (631) 632-6720 or use the online self-scheduler to make an appointment. If your appointment is in-person, your counselor will provide you with their office location. If you are looking to speak with a counselor after our regular hours (Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm), please call CAPS After Hours at (631) 632-6720, anytime day or night.
For more information about our services, please visit our website at stonybrook.edu/caps. We wish you a relaxing holiday break, and best of luck on your upcoming finals.
Sincerely,
Julian Pessier

Temporary Relocation of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
Dear Faculty & Staff Colleagues,
Due to the renovation of the second floor of the Student Health and Counseling Center, located on the 2nd floor at 1 Stadium Road, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is temporarily relocating their offices to other areas of campus from now through late January.
Our operations will continue uninterrupted, including offering both in-person and telehealth visits to students. To speak with a counselor, students should call (631) 632-6720 or use the online self-scheduler to make an appointment. In addition, CAPS After Hours is a resource available to students should they need to speak to a counselor outside of business hours (Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm), any time day or night, at (631) 632-6720.
Should you need to refer a student to CAPS, please call us at (631) 632-6720 to connect with our team and determine the best course of care.
We’d also like to remind you of another useful resource for faculty and staff, the Red Book website, where you can find signs to look for and how to respond to student situations including emotional distress, disruptive behavior, medical emergencies, or other concerns that require support or intervention.
For more information about our services, please visit our website at stonybrook.edu/caps.
Thank you for your continued support.
