The Recreation and Student Life Broad Base Fee plays a vital role in enriching campus life and supporting a variety of student-focused programs and services. This fee helps fund campus traditions and events, such as Homecoming, Red Day, Involvement Fairs, and monthly cultural programs, which foster a lively campus atmosphere and contribute to student success. It also supports a wide range of recreational and wellness activities, including outdoor adventures, sports clubs, and intramural sports, with 44 weekly fitness classes and over 20 intramural sports and special events offered throughout the year. The fee covers the upkeep, replacement, and custodial services for key facilities like the Walter J. Hawrys Recreation Center and South P Field complex, ensuring they remain top-quality and accessible. Additionally, it creates employment opportunities for over 300 students each year and subsidizes off-campus trips to destinations such as Six Flags Fright Fest, Broadway shows, and Tanger shopping.
