Stony Brook University's Center for Prevention and Outreach provides services to address
student concerns about alcohol and other substances, relationships, gender issues,
and making healthy choices with a focus on prevention and early intervention.
Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)
Services provided by the Counseling and Psychological Services are free, confidential,
and available to currently enrolled students taking at least six credit hours.

The Trevor Project offers a Lifeline that is available 24/7/365, the ability to chat
with someone online who can help you seven days a week, and a way to text someone
when you need.
Call Centers
The Long Island Crisis Center Crisis offers intervention, counseling, information,
referral, and other supportive services, primarily through a 24-hour a day, seven-day-a-week
telephone crisis hotline and live, online counseling.
