The departments of Student Health, Wellness, and Prevention (SHWPS) services promote
and enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all students, faculty,
and staff at our university. We strive to create a safe and supportive campus community
that fosters healthy lifestyles, resilience, and a sense of belonging for all students.
We provide comprehensive and accessible healthcare services and recreation to all
students of the campus community, including medical, mental health, and preventive
care. We, as a team, develop and implement evidence-based wellness programs and initiatives
that promote healthy lifestyles, stress reduction, and resilience and foster a culture
of prevention by providing education and training on topics such as sexual health,
alcohol and substance use, and mental health awareness. Through our commitment to
accessibility, we strive to empower students to achieve their academic and personal
goals and to foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and diversity at our institution.
We strive to be the leader in delivering coordinated & integrated collegiate healthcare.
Our goal is to provide accessible, innovative services by continually exploring ways
to improve health outcomes by embracing new technologies and approaches. We promote
an inclusive, healthy living and learning environment that empowers students to grow
towards their fullest potential. We are recognized for being a vital source of services
for students, faculty and staff, and an integral part of the University’s mission
promoting retention, supporting academic success, enhancing the overall student experience
and promoting a community of care.

JED Campus Alumni
A JED Campus Alumni refers to colleges and universities that have successfully completed the JED Campus
program, a comprehensive initiative by the JED Foundation to promote mental health,
prevent substance misuse, and reduce suicide among students. After completing the
four-year partnership, institutions are recognized as alumni. They are expected to
maintain and expand upon the policies, programs, and strategies implemented during
their time in the program.
