Congratulations To Our 2025 Stony Award Finalists
September 9, 2025
Dear Stony Brook Community,
From my very first interview for the Stony Brook presidency, I was deeply moved by the genuine pride everyone takes in belonging to this exceptional institution. Since February, I have experienced this welcoming warmth and deep sense of purpose that are at the heart of Stony Brook’s culture across our East, West and Southampton campuses. There is no mistaking this unique Seawolf spirit that enables our excellence and impact across education, research, healthcare and service.
This spirit of excellence and impact inspired the Stony Awards when they were created in 2023. Today it is my honor to announce the finalists for the 2025 Stony Awards in celebration of exemplary achievements across our community. Our selection committee reviewed hundreds of nominations, each a testament to your talent and dedication. Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination and to our committee members for your thoughtful work.
