During the first-ever Disrupt the Brook event on May 9, 2025, Derek O'Connor, Manager of Workforce Development at the Office for Research and Innovation, spoke to a crowd of aspiring student entrepreneurs and innovators. O'Connor discussed how the Office for Research and Innovation works with strategic partners and members of the community to bring hands-on workforce experience to K-12 students through hackathons, STEM programs, and summer training programs.
