Jonathan Brockman is Associate Professor of Chemistry at Suffolk County Community College. He has been teaching first-year chemistry for majors and non-majors for more than a dozen years. He is interested in the various pedagogy of chemistry to benefit the diverse student population.

Why I chose to join IRACDA NY-CAPS

The opportunity for IRACDA Fellows to share a day-in-the-life of a teaching faculty mentor, to experience the academic process both inside and outside the classroom, is exciting. Fellows and mentors learn from one another creating a partnership for both to grow professionally. I, also, enjoy observing the Fellows interacting with the students in the classroom and becoming a role model to the students at the partnering institutions.
