Dr. Kenneth M. Nicholas Fellowship
The Dr. Kenneth M. Nicholas Undergraduate Research Fellowship was established in 2018 and sponsored by Dr. Kenneth M. Nicholas and his wife Sacra N. Nicholas. Dr. Nicholas, an emeritus faculty member from the University of Oklahoma, graduated from Stony Brook in 1969 after carrying out undergraduate research in the Department of Chemistry. The Dr. Kenneth M. Nicholas Undergraduate Research Fellowship was established to recognize an outstanding URECA summer research applicant who is a Chemistry major (with preference given to students studying chemical synthesis or catalysis). The Dr. Kenneth Nicholas award will provide funding for 10 weeks of full-time faculty-mentored research with a stipend fellowship of $5,000.
