Students should prepare their personal statement, gather all necessary documentation, and then contact a CEAS advisor to obtain the link to submit these documents via the online CEAS Petition form.

**NOTE: Effective immediately, requests for third (or more) attempts in courses, or late additions of courses must be submitted via this form. However, if your course retake or late add will result in a credit overload (20-23 credits in a fall or spring semester or 10 credits in a summer session) for the respective semester, you must contact a CEAS advisor and submit your request via the online CEAS Petition form as noted above.

A decision for routine requests is normally made within 2 business days; requests for academic reinstatement after suspension and/or dismissal usually require additional time.

If approved, the decision is communicated directly with the Registrar’s Office for processing. Students are responsible to pay any fees associated with the processing of their petition.

If a student’s petition is denied, they will be emailed with a detailed reason for denial, and provided with advice on how to proceed. Students are entitled one appeal to the CEAS Committee on Academic Standing & Appeals (CASA) and Dean, providing additional documentation or support for their appeal. Appeals must contain new information to be considered by the CASA and Dean.
