Walk-in tutoring is available in Engineering, 236B (upstairs to the right of the elevator, next to the CEAS Undergraduate Advising office).
The CEAS Tutoring Program is intended to support students within the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, but is open to all students enrolled in the subjects we offer.
CEAS Tutoring, like any form of studying and preparation, is most effective when utilized proactively - early and often! CEAS Tutoring begins in the third week of classes during Fall and Spring semesters and we invite you to click here for the current schedule.
- Have questions ahead of time (the more specific the better)
- Specific problems are better than general questions (such as homework, textbook examples, practice test questions)
- Try to bring a textbook if you have one
- Try to figure out, as specific as possible, what it is you don’t understand. For example, if there is a homework problem you cannot complete, try to find what it is exactly you don’t understand. That way the tutor can focus more time on explaining that one part instead of going over the whole problem generally.
Quiz yourself on your material 24-48 hours after attending tutoring to see what information you can recall without looking at your notes and then review subject matter that you need a refresher on again.
No, the CEAS Tutoring Program only offers walk-in tutoring available in Engineering, 236B (upstairs to the right of the elevator, next to the CEAS Undergraduate Advising office).
The CEAS Tutor will walk around the room and meet with students. If a group of students have the same question, the CEAS Tutor may work with a small group together.
