On Stony Brook:
I was looking for schools that admit students in the spring and came across Stony Brook’s strong physics program, research environment, and proximity to Brookhaven National Lab. That made it a great fit for me.

On her major:
Back in middle school, I read some general-interest books on physics and was completely fascinated. I realized there was so much more to the subject than what I had seen in school, and I wanted to keep exploring it. That curiosity eventually led me here.

Favorite class:
Definitely PHY 303: Mechanics with Professor Radu Ionas. The content was beautiful—especially learning about Noether’s Theorem—and Professor Ionas made it all the more enjoyable. His handwritten notes were amazing, and he always stayed after class to help us out. It was one of those rare classes where even the homework was fun!

Interests and accomplishments:
I worked as a peer tutor, orientation leader, and teaching assistant. I was part of the WISE and Physics Honors programs and graduated magna cum laude. I also took part in undergraduate research and presented at a few events, including URECA.

Plans for post-graduation:
I'll be starting a PhD in Physics at Florida State University this fall. I’m really excited for what’s ahead!
