The Department of Art at Stony Brook University brings together artists, historians, and media practitioners who think critically and create boldly across visual and digital cultures. From painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking to photography, illustration, animation, and interactive media, we connect creative practice with research and experimentation. Students work in state-of-the-art studios and maker spaces, engage with New York’s art world, and study with internationally recognised faculty whose work bridges art, science, and society.
