This talk summarizes recent advances in understanding the historical evolution of Yeniseian languages, including the family’s complex areal interaction with the surrounding Turkic and Uralic languages, the development of Ket tones and complex templatic verb morphology, as well as its ancient connection with Na-Dene in North America.
