Registration Information

May: 

  • Complete your Advising Planning Form
  • Complete your Placement Exams
  • Send in your AP and Transfer Credits

June:

  • Check your email for Registration Workshop Invitation
  • Check your email for Core Course Registration Information with SBC Recommendations and Workshop Reminder
  • Attend your Assigned Registration Workshop
Advising Planning Form

Complete your Advising Planning Form (APF) in SOLAR as soon as possible to ensure you are registered in the appropriate courses.

The Advising Planning Form will:

  • Confirm your intended major
  • Allow you to self-report AP and transfer credits
  • Direct you to sign up for the Placement Exams you need



AP's and Transfer Credits

You should self report ALL Transfer and AP Credits on your Advising Planning Form.  In addition, if you have AP Math or Chemistry, please email a copy of your scores to  ucolleges@stonybrook.edu. 

IMPORTANT for Transfer Credits:

Send  official transcripts from all colleges and universities to:

Report AP scores online through College Board. Code = 2548.

 

Placement Exams

New students are required to take different placement exams to ensure they are placed in the proper courses Students may have to take up to 4 different placement exams which are described below. Complete your placement exams as soon as possible to receive priority registration to enroll in the classes you want!

Registration Workshops 

Your Advisors and Student Enrollment Assistants will be enrolling you in your required courses.  You will be assigned a Registration Workshop Date (dates are listed below). You will be sent an invite via email to your assigned workshop.

Please check your Stony Brook Email for Advising Information and Registration Workshop Information during the month of May.
The email will come from ucolleges@stonybrook.edu.

You will be assigned to one of the following Virtual Workshops:

All workshops will take place via Zoom.

Registration for CEAS, Honors, University Scholars, and WISE Students

Special Populations (Honors, University Scholars, and WISE) will have their Registration Workshops during the month  of July. More information to be provided from your program.
