Pack the Stands. Fuel the Pride.

You're invited to join SPD for an afternoon of football and fun!

We're giving away 200+ tickets to SPD students, faculty, staff, alumni, and OLLI members. 

If you've never been to a game – or even if you attend all of them – here's your chance to root for the home team, connect with friends and classmates, and enjoy a tailgate! For free.  

The event is part of the SB Athletics Dean's Challenge — a friendly competition among schools. The school with the highest attendance will receive a scholarship for books!

How to Claim Your Tickets

RSVP for yourself and your guests below↓ 

We'll email you a confirmation and you can pick up your tickets during the week of the game or on game day. 

SEPTEMBER 10-12:
Pick up your tickets at the OLLI Office (S101 Social and Behavioral Sciences Building) from 9 am  to 5:00 pm

GAME DAY:
Pick up your tickets at the SPD tailgate starting at 1 pm or at  Will Call (Gate 6) starting at 2:30.


EVENT DETAILS

  • When: Saturday, September 13 – tailgate at 1 pm, kickoff at 3:30pm
  • Where: LaValle Stadium
  • What: Seawolves vs. Fordham Rams
  • Who: SPD students, faculty, staff, alumni & OLLI members
  • Cost: 100% FREE (including the tailgate!)

SB Athletics has designated this game as Kids Day/High School Band Day, where grade schoolers and high schoolers will be part of the action!

Directions and Parking

The official gameday parking lot is located on Gym Road, across the street from the LIRR parking. The best entrance to take is the North entrance. Take a right on Circle Road and follow the signs for gameday parking, which will be off of Gym Road.

If you have a handicap parking hangtag, take a left at the North Entrance. Show the security personnel stationed at Circle and Stadium Road your hangtag, and follow the directions to the designated lot (in blue on the maps below and to the right). 

Additional Parking Options: If you're familiar with the campus, you probably already know that certain lots are only enforced Monday-Friday. Please read the signs to make sure you're not using a lot that is enforced 24/7. And never, ever park in a special services or handicap spot without the appropriate hangtag.

GPS Note:

If you put "Stony Brook LaValle Stadium" into your GPS, it will take you to the main entrance and send you to a lot that is closed to traffic on gameday.  You're better off searching for the LIRR parking lot and following the posted signs that lead you to Gym Road.


Restricted Items:

The following items cannot be brought into the stadium:

  • Food
  • Bottles (glass or plastic)
  • Thermoses
  • Coolers
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Noise makers
  • Weapons
  • Laser pointers
  • Clothing with vulgar language
  • Fireworks
  • Aerosol cans
  • Non-service pets
  • Umbrellas

Help Us Help Seawolves:
Donate to the Seawolves Pantry

The Stony Brook University Seawolves Pantry serves community members (students, staff, and faculty) who are food insecure or who are at risk of food insecurity.

We are collecting donations of food and hygiene items at our tailgate. If you want to help, here's a suggested list of items you can bring!


Tailgate

While tailgate spaces are first-come, first-served, we plan to set up between Gates 5 and 6. We'll have tents and an SPD table. You can't miss us!
