Committee formed for SoCJ dean search

Dear SoCJ faculty and staff,
I am reaching out to share an important update on the School of Communication and Journalism dean search process.
First, thank you for providing your input on who should be part of the search committee. I have appointed a search committee, listed in full below, made up of key stakeholders from the SoCJ and across the university.
I am grateful to Peter Diplock, Vice Provost for Continuing, Professional, and Online Education, for agreeing to serve as the chair of the search committee.
The search committee members are:

- Musa al-Gharbi, Assistant Professor of Journalism
- Christina Anselmo, SoCJ Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration
- Sarah Baxter, Visiting Professor of Journalism and Director of the Marie Colvin Center for International Reporting
- Pablo Calvi, Associate Professor of Journalism
- Zachary Dowdy, Assistant Professor of Practice, Journalism
- Susan Foley, interim Vice President of University Marketing and Communications
- Michael Huang, Health Sciences Librarian
- Wenbo Li, Assistant Professor of Communication
- Ruobing Li, Associate Professor of Communication
- Matthew Salzano, Assistant Professor of Communication
The committee will include an SoCJ student representative; that member has yet to be confirmed. We are also in the process of finalizing a contract with an executive search firm and will share more detail at a later date.
