Research Support Request (RSR)

The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is committed to helping advance research excellence at Stony Brook University. The OVPR will partner with the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Senior VP-Health Sciences, Colleges, Schools, Departments and PI's, and may provide funds requested through the RSR mechanism. Based on the availability of funds, the OVPR will select RSRs for funding in the following areas:

• High-impact research requiring matching funds
• State-of-the-art instrumentation (in strategic areas) and the sponsor-mandated matching funds
• Support of core facilities
• Innovation-development of cutting-edge ideas
• Interdisciplinary collaborations
• Industrial collaborations
• Entrepreneurship and startup creation
• Symposium and travel support on research-related subjects
