The Office for Research and Innovation invites applications to the The G. Harold & Leila Y. Mathers Foundation Grants program. The mission of The G. Harold and Leila Y. Mathers Foundation is to advance knowledge in the life sciences by sponsoring scientific research that will benefit mankind. Stony Brook University can submit THREE LOI applications.

Please see below for details. If you are interested in applying, you must submit a pre-application via the Mathers Pre-Application Portal in InfoReady by Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11:59 pm. Pre-applications for internal review and selection must be uploaded to the portal as a single PDF document.

WHAT DOES IT FUND:The Foundation primarily supports basic science, ideally with potential translational application. Examples of current research areas supported include immunology, microbiome, structural biology, cellular physiology, cancer biology, genetics, genomics, microbiology and infectious diseases, stem cell biology, and neuroscience.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:No restrictions

AWARD: The maximum allowable budget is $700,000 (inclusive of 10% maximum IDC for direct costs) over three years.

SPONSOR DEADLINE: Portal Registration due February 28, 2025; LOI due March 14, 2025; Invited proposals due May 23, 2025

CV/NIH biosketch with support information for the Primary Investigator
