The Technology Entrepreneur Academy aims to inspire and prepare high school students for pursuing technology entrepreneurship.
It highlights several emerging technologies and covers the foundational steps necessary for individuals to commercialize their inventions based on proven processes used by successful entrepreneurs by addressing these fundamental questions:
- Does a business idea have the potential to become a successful business?
- How to discover potential customers’ needs and desires?
- How to start a new venture with limited resources?
- How to craft a successful business pitch?
The ultimate outcomes for this workshop are to increase the awareness, excitement, and confidence of participants about emerging technology and entrepreneurship.

What You Will Learn
During this week-long program, you will learn how to generate entrepreneurial opportunities, find customers, conduct a feasibility analysis, and develop financing strategies. In addition, you will learn about emerging technologies, such as AI, blockchain, genomics, robotics and sustainable technologies.
In this class you will:
- Learn about the entrepreneurial process via lectures and discussions.
- Work on experiential exercises to gain insights on the opportunity generating process and customer discovery phase.
- Become familiar with the key components of business pitches and financing strategies.
About The CenterStony Brook's Center of Entrepreneurial Finance strives to advance and disseminate research and practice on how entrepreneurial entities acquire, manage and transfer financial resources. Our three missions are to promote and facilitate research activities in entrepreneurial finance, create opportunities for students to participate in entrepreneurial finance research and start-up activities, and provide a platform connecting relevant stakeholders to support the building of the entrepreneurial ecosystem on Long Island, New York State, and beyond. |
