K7-44. RLC Circuit Box - Differentiation And Integration

Purpose

To demonstrate differentiation and integration using a series RC circuit.

Equipment

RLC circuit demonstrator, oscillator, and dual trace oscilloscope with scope/TV cart.

Descripton

Using the RLC circuit box (Demonstration K7-21), the inductance is not used, the variable capacitor is set to full value, and the variable resistor is set to 50 kilohm (midrange). With the circuits below, differentiation is obtained using a 1 kilohertz input wave (period much greater than time constant), and integration is obtained using a 50 kilohertz input wave (period much smaller than time constant).
