Elastic Limit Of Rubber Band
Purpose
To demonstrate Hooke's law and elastic limit.
Equipment
Stand with scale and clamps, rubber bands, six 1 kg masses with 1 kg hanger, and two 0.5 kg masses, as photographed.
Setup Time
5 Min.
Images
Description
Load small weights to demonstrate Hooke's law. Hanging a few kilograms from the rubber band exceeds its elastic limit.◙
