Biography

Dr. Jan C. Bernauer received his Doctorate from Mainz University in 2010 for a precision measurement of the proton form factors, a corner-stone measurement of the proton radius puzzle. He then joined MIT, initially as a postdoc on the OLYMPUS experiment, a milestone experiment in the study of two-photon exchange in lepton-proton scattering, for which he servers as analysis coordinator. He later was promoted to Research Scientist, working on MUSE (software coordinator), DarkLight and TPEX. In 2018, he joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Stony Brook University, in a joint position with the Riken BNL Research Center. Continuing the work on MUSE, DarkLight and TPEX, his group is now also involved in the DAQ aspects of sPHENIX and EIC.
