The Stony Brook $1,000 Short Fiction Prize

Now in its 31st year!

The 2021 Stony Brook $1,000 Short Fiction Prize has been awarded to  Camry Romney (Arizona State University) for her story, “Hosanna!.”

This year, author, Robert Lopez, served as the judge for the contest, which received more than 300 submissions.

Runners-Up: Ben Perez (University of Tennessee) for “Corpus Christi” and Katherine Serna (University of Rochester) for “Father's Day for Abandoned Children.”
