Maria stepped into this role in October 2022. She originally joined the Stony Brook University family in November 2011 as a procurement professional where she managed the accounts payable for the Long Island State Veterans home and payment of Stony Brook University’s state bills. She was one of the first few to learn the Wolfmart system when it first came over to Stony Brook University. After 7 years with Procurement, she moved over to the New York Sea Grant Department where she learned how to handle the grant process as well as how they acquire funding for environmental research. Prior to working at Stony Brook University she worked for a tax office located in Melville, NY as an administrative assistant preparing taxes and prepping for tax audits.

Maria graduated from Ward Melville High School.  She loves giving back to the community. She's very involved with her daughter’s dance studio as a fundraiser coordinator for the past 11 years and is a current blood donor for many years.
