Annual OGA Thanksgiving Dinner

Study Abroad Advocacy Training

The Office of Global Affairs hosted our annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, November 20 in the Student Activities Center. This event allowed for our visiting international student population, Fulbright Scholars, and future Stony Brook exchange students to experience a traditional American holiday feast together with the Global Affairs staff and distinguished Stony Brook faculty. Several lucky students won Stony Brook apparel as raffle prizes!

The highlight of the night was the ceremonial turkey carving by President Stanley, accompanied by Vice Provost for Global Affairs Jun Liu and Wolfie. In addition to turkey, students and staff feasted on traditional Thanksgiving delicacies, including mashed potatoes and stuffing, before enjoying a dessert of pumpkin, apple and pecan pie.

The Thanksgiving Dinner is one of our favorite events of the academic year, as it provides an incredible cultural experience for our international student population, bringing them together with domestic students, faculty, and staff.
