GETTING STARTED

Follow the steps below to activate your Stony Brook–provided LinkedIn Learning account and getting started with your first learning plan. You’ll use your NetID and NetID Password to sign in, choose whether to connect your personal LinkedIn profile (or skip), pick an initial learning goal, and begin exploring courses from your My Career Journey page. When you’re ready, you can continue learning, return to the Home page to search for additional training, or use More → Assign Content to share recommended courses with others. 

ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT

STEP 1. Use this exclusive link to unlock your Stony Brook account.

STEP 2. Enter your NETID and  NetID Password when prompted. 

STEP 3. Select "Get Started" on the LinkedIn Learning Welcome page

SET UP YOUR ACCOUNT

STEP 4. Choose  "Connect with LinkedIn Profile" (recommended) or  you can "Skip for Now."

— If you choose Connect with LinkedIn profile, you will be prompted to confirm your identity by choosing Accept and Continue.

— If you choose Skip for Now, you will be prompted to add your most recent role and how many years you have on that career path. 

STEP 5. Select a goal that you would like to focus on first.

STEP 6. Select Get Started with This Plan

STEP 7. You will land on the My Career Journey page.

— Select Continue Learning

or

— Select the Home page to search for additional training. 

VIEW LEARNING CONTENT

ASSIGNED OR RECOMMENDED CONTENT

Step 1: Under the Library section, select "My Content."

Step 2: Select "Assigned by Stony Brook University" or "Recommended by Stony Brook University."

Step 3: Select the content title.

Step 4: Select'Start."
