IEEE is an international professional association. It is the leading authority in
technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications,
to electric power, aerospace, consumer electronics as well as other areas. The Stony
Brook chapter of the IEEE’s main focus is on giving members opportunities to advance
their knowledge and provide an environment where they can more easily find a job upon
graduation. This chapter aims to be a technical resource for students and a tool to
utilize in advancing their careers.

We are the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Student Branch at Stony Brook University (IEEE at SBU), a student-led professional organization focused on helping students prepare for their careers in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, and related fields. Our mission is to further the practice of engineering and form a strong community of engineers at SBU composed of students, staff, and faculty by hosting several professional, academic, technical, and social events. We have our very own laboratory space equipped with computers and other tools to encourage our members to work on personal projects, study, and learn outside of the classroom. IEEE Student Lab is located in Light Engineering 175. Hours for each semester are announced on their discord.
IEEE EVENTS
