Where are you originally from?

I am originally from Shirley, New York on Long Island. I graduated from Longwood High School.

Why Stony Brook University?

I heard about SBU because it’s super local to where I grew up. Also, my high school participated in a pre-college program with the Health Science Center that I was a part of.

I chose to study at Stony Brook because it is close to home but also could give me the full college experience.

Major/minor:

I am a Studio Art major with a minor in Art History. I chose these because I have always loved artmaking and want to continue with it in my professional career.

Favorite class?

My favorite class was Lithography because it introduced me to my favorite printmaking technique.

Greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement thus far is my first solo art show, Clarity. I was able to put on this exhibition thanks to taking a Senior Honors class this past semester.

 Awards & Accolades:

I have worked hard to remain on the Dean’s List for all four years at SBU. In addition,I will be graduating Cum Laude and with Honors from the Art Department. Further, I had 5 art pieces in this year’s URECA and Senior Show Art Exhibition in the Zuccaire Gallery. I am honored to have received Third Prize in the 2022 Student Affairs Art Competition as well as received the 2022 President’s URECA Purchase Award.

Plans for post-graduation:

I’m currently deciding between starting off with a full time job or jumping into attempting to be a full time artist. While I figure that out I will be working with kids at a Summer Art Program at the local art gallery, Gallery North.

Career aspirations:

I hope to one day open my own art studio and gallery. I also hope to continue working with art installations and be able to create community art installations.

 Advice for future Seawolves?

My best advice for potential Seawolves would be to major in something you are passionate about and to be as involved as possible on campus.

Favorite SBU memory?

My favorite SBU memory is probably just all of the time I spent with my friends! I’ve met some truly amazing people throughout my time here and am very grateful for the connections and memories I’ve been able to make.
