Galia Cozzi Berrondo

Galia BerrondoGalia is a Mexican PhD candidate in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program at Stony Brook University. Her research focuses on the political organizing of Latin/x American LGBT/Q migrants, the formation of transnational networks, and the development of alternative forms of citizenship through performative interventions. A Fulbright recipient, she earned her master’s degree in Sociology from the New School for Social Research in 2019. Her activism has centered on collaborating with community groups and grassroots organizations in New York City, such as Mixteca and the Transnational Villages Network, to promote the social, economic, and cultural inclusion of Latin American and Indigenous immigrants.
