Patty DiOrio

Parrt DiOrioMs. DiOrio is an energy and utilities executive with 25 years of experience across regulated and unregulated businesses in power generation and natural gas and electricity networks.

She joined Ørsted in September 2020 and in her role as Head of Offshore Development and Origination, she oversees new project development for the company’s Americas region and leads strategic growth initiatives, including competitive bidding and new market development.

Under Patty’s leadership, the company developed a market and growth strategy to guide the region’s focus across the Americas through 2030. During this time, Patty and her teams have permitted the most offshore wind projects in the U.S. and successfully advanced South Fork Wind, Revolution Wind and Sunrise Wind to final investment decision and construction. Patty is a member of the Americas Region Senior Leadership team and reports directly to Ørsted Americas CEO Amanda Dasch.

Prior to joining Ørsted she was Vice President of U.S. Strategy at National Grid, one of the world’s largest multinational natural gas and electric utilities, where she developed long-term strategies for the company’s U.S. regulated and unregulated business units. Previously, she was a Director at IHS CERA, a premier global energy consultancy, where she was a leader in the firm’s North American Power, Gas, Coal and Renewables practice.

Earlier in her career, she was a project developer for independent power producers Competitive Power Ventures and PG&E National Energy Group. In these roles, she led development of greenfield power generation facilities and valuations for asset acquisitions. Ms. DiOrio holds a Master of Business Administration from Babson College, a Master’s degree in Engineering from Boston University, and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
